What’s all this noise about Ronnie coming to Chelsea? Can Chelsea pull off one of the biggest transfers in football history in the space of 3 days? Why do we need him so badly that we might have to pay him 200,000 pounds a week? Are we becoming (or have become) a galactico team?
Last part of the series by Blue Winner. Now we come to the part that made the difference last season. He believes that this would be a season where our defence will rule over the rest. Also to break the suspense, he thinks we will win the title by 6 points (wonder how he arrived at this?!). Nice to hear, would be even nicer to witness it happen.
One of those typical 1-0 Chelsea wins. We weren’t playing our best football. But we know how to get three points with as much as we can do. Pompey played well but I won’t say that they deserved a point or something.
This is certainly not the best of times to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The morale of the Blues must be really at a high with 7 points from 3 fixtures which includes a difficult point at Anfield. Also add to this the Chelsea master stroke in the transfer market to kill off the Daniel Alves saga. The way I see it, Juliano Belletti = Middle finger to Sevilla.
Robben’s gone and that’s official. Official Chelsea FC website’s ‘elaborate three-liner‘ confirms that. He just needs to agree his personal terms but that should be rather smooth, given that he wants to play for Madrid. Elsewhere, Rafa Benitez asks some questions to FA on why Man Utd always gets the red carpet while the other clubs sweat their way out.
Quick short post today. Not much Chelsea news around. Only that Maka has signed a contract, Styles has apologised (bloody hell!) to Liverpool for his penalty ‘error’, Daniel Alves does not rule out a move to Real Madrid and some other news. Read on.
To put it bluntly, Liverpool deserved to win. We were lucky to draw. So what? Got a vital point at Anfield. After the match, Rafa would be the proud manager and Jose would be the happy manager. In the premier league rat race, I’d always prefer to be the happy manager, especially after a match in places like Anfield. If I seem to sound apologetic, let me clarify: I’m laughing my ass off at the scousers, that we got a point there. This was the same place which eliminated Chelsea from champions league through a goal that never crossed the line. So, Liverpool played better but I’m not at all ashamed to come away with a valuable point.
How many of you think that it’s better to play the so-called big teams away from home, early in the season? I’d be so happy if we play Man Utd at Old Trafford next week and Arsenal at Ash-Grave the week after. Given our brilliant home league record, I’d like to save these trump cards for a later date. With this season looking to be a nail-biter, playing key matches at home at a later stage will mean even more.
Guys! I’m off to Europe (not to UK) tonight on a short official trip. I won’t be here for the next two weeks to update the blog as regularly as I do nowadays. That’s actually being very conservative. Where I stay, I might have access to internet and I will be carrying my laptop, for you know why.
Some news roundup for today. Drogba on our premier league lead, Kalou’s target of 20 goals this season, Lampard on his captain armband, Sidwell’s admission of his poor performance, Fergie is let off after his referee blame and finally what’s happening with Daniel Alves? Read on!
