Chelsea Are Not Favourites - BET365

It’s kinda official. Chelsea are not favourites to win this Premiership. So, with the less spending resulting in less pressure, now the favourites tag is also gone. As per BET365, one of the most popular online betting websites, Man Utd are the favourites to win the title in 07-08.

Bet365 provide a range of sports betting on sporting competitions from around the globe. More than the online casino, interactive games section and bet365poker available in their website what interests me is the odds that they provide for various sports events including football.

What you see on the left are the odds given by them for the Premiership 07-08. Though Man Utd are the favourites, there is very little to choose between them and Chelsea.

As per the odds, the top is the same that has stayed for the last few seasons. They’ve put Spurs too far away from Arsenal, but many including myself, think that this is the season, Spurs are going to replace Arsenal.

Lot of faith in Big Sam and the return on Michael Owen that the expect Newcastle to play in Europe. With doubts still cast over Tevez, and Benayoun gone to Liverpool, West Ham is expected to do well, surprisingly.

Also, going by this, no one expects Reading’s honeymoon to continue while Roy Keane’s Sunderland would stay in the Premiership at the cost of Wigan’s place. Despite the hype over Eriksson’s appointment and lots of new signings, Man City is seen at the bottom of the bottom half.

If you have a strong belief that Derby would win the title and if you bet say $1,000 on them, if they win, you can pocket 5,001,000. That’s many times more than what the best paid Derby player can earn in 5 years.

The positive message here is that despite the super-signings by Man Utd, still Chelsea is expected to breathe under their neck, with just one cash signing in the season.

topgoalscorer0708-odds.JPG There are also odds on the top scorer in the Premiership. Drogba topping the list should come as no surprise. Along with Ruud van Nistelrooy, he must be the best striker in Europe now. See the gap between Drogba and Rooney. That’s quite a lot and that’s a big compliment to Drogba.

Do you see another man from Chelsea above Ronaldo, Tevez, McCarthy, Lampard, Torres, Kuyt etc? For the kind of season he had, this is a very very conservative odds 13-1 for Sheva while we are not even sure if he would play enough number of matches for this honour. The other interesting thing is between brackets next to Tevez’ name.

Do you think this is a fair expectation for the new season? Man Utd winning the league and Drogba to win th golden boot again. I feel both could go wrong. The goals from Chelsea could be distributed reasonably to many players (reducing Drogba’s chance to win the golden boot) and due to that very reason, Man Utd may not win the league. Whatdyasay?

I read two interesting news .
1- “Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez faces the enviable situation of choosing between five world class strikers for two starting places next season, but he has said that it’s a good problem.” :) he is crazy , if he was a world class manager he would know that this is not a good problem . he will face so many problems in future.
2-’Manchester City have signed Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov for £4.7m from Atletico Madrid.”
I love this player he is great. 4.7 is very low for this player, he is fantastic I watched his game a lot and he is one of my favortie player you will see a lot from this player in future.

It is very common that the previous winners are generally thought be the favourites. I am not sure of this years League though. There are so many good teams now with so much money poured in. West Ham are breaking banks and so are Spurs and Man city. But I donot know if there are so many good managers as there are teams. It is very difficult to have good players if you are not able to build a team. Rafa the tinker man had so many different combinations last year, this year he will have many more.

Look at the top scorer’s list and you would find an arsenal shirt only after dozen names.. where are those ppl going to get their goals from. having Pizzaro’s name in that list must be a joke.
