The long drawn negotiations are finally over. Lyon has agreed for a 13.5m pound deal for Malouda and his is all set to appear for his medicals on Monday in London. And yes, the official Chelsea website has also confirmed this.
We might argue all day long on why we have have been hell bent on signing a winger while we have an apparent problem in the right back position. But the fact remains that he is coming to Chelsea and we have another three weeks to go in the transfer window. When Boulahrouz was signed, nobody could smell it all, well of course, he started stinking later on. Now I expect a similar coup to happen for the right back role, if the Dani Alves move fails.
If the signing of Pizarro put enormous pressure on Kalou, Malouda’s arrival could simply shut off his first team chances. He is still young and has a great future but I dont honestly think he can make it to the first team this season. It won’t be a bad idea to loan him to a somewhat mid-table Premiership club. So far, there has not even been any murmur about such a possibility. If we make him available on the last week of this month, there would still be takers in the Premiership.
So how does Malouda fit in? See, it’s kind of getting clear that we’re going to play 4-3-3 this season. If Jose offloads Maka, 4-3-3 would become nearly certain. With both Robben and Joe Cole being fit (touchwood), SWP and Sheva still available, someone has to get ready warm the bench for long periods of time. I won’t be surprised if SWP becomes an out and out domestic cup player. Or Joe Cole might retreat to the side midfield which is not something new for him.
Malouda has formed successful partnerships with two of Chelsea most important players – Essien and Drogba. So, it should not be too difficult for Malouda to settle down, both professionally and personally.
Chelsea’s chase of Drenthe must make Ashley and Wayne feel jittery. Bridge had a very good season and Cole wasnt too bad either. If we are going to land Drenthe, he can even challenge for a first team slot. If you haven’t seen Royston Drenthe play, probably you won’t understand why at all we discuss the name of some 20-year old Dutch who had not existed a year ago.

You’re tempted too, right? Hold on for while until we sign him ahead of all those jealous european giants.
May be Tevez has left West Ham but has not joined Man Utd. He is owned by West Ham but only Kia Joorabchian has his selling rights. Man Utd have to pay Joorabchian because his company own the Tevez label, while they have to pay West Ham as they have already bought the player from Kia Joorabchian and not from his company. And Man Utd will have to pay his salary to his dog and the bonuses to his postman. It’s all fcuking confusing and awfully fishy.
And finally, the software upgrade has happened in bluechampions in the backend. I also thought that this is a nice time to replace the theme to give us some more professional ‘look and feel’. As always, wait for it to grow on you. And if I haven’t told you already, this blog is best viewed with Firefox browser, which is simply the best browser available. I’m still giving those finishing touches to this theme and it should win over you in the next 2 weeks.
If you haven’t done the survey yet, go do that right away!

great improvement bc. this set up is superb. dont change this please.
malouda is a good signing. like u said, the ideal thing is to move joe cole to midfield and have malouda and robben play in the wings. but that will mean four of lampard, ballack, makelele, essien, mikel and diarra. i’m not sure how it’s gonna go.
4-3-3

all fine except that you’ve swapped cole and ferreira!
ye sorry i mixed it up do u think we could put Ben-Haim in the right back position instead of Ferriera?
blue boy! that footie news is back in the right side bar (and not left as you said. something wrong with your right/left recognition today?). thanks for reminding.
how do you like the new look, by the way?
nice nice BC looking good keep up the good work, as for malouda he will be a valuable asset for our team and hopefully with him we will be able to win the premiership ans champions league. I dont really care if man u get tevez, i mean sure he is a great player but as long as chelsea play good and win all their games, we have nothing to worry about. Go chelsea…..Blue4lyfe
Love the new look, also love the new signing.

great theme. very well done.
Awesome upgrade , i always thought the site was a bit dull , now it looks fresh and BLUE , and on top of it all it loads much faster(thank god , i used to spend a lot of time waiting)!!!!
The signing of Malouda is good but Robben shld also stay , the fact is that i dont want him to hold the club at ransom , as nobody is bigger than the club if he agrees with that there shld be no prob , all we need now is either Miguel or Dani Alves!!!!
Cheers BC keep up the great work
Joeblue
And u forgot to highlight the important dates in the calendar!!!!
Guys any update on Robben…if he leaves it will be a big step backward for Chelsea….
BC nice upgrade. One issue BTW…’no of comments’ link on starting page doesn’t changes even if new messages are added……
Nice change BC. Great pleasing look…
Where does PATO fit in Chelsea, I have tried watching him in the U20 World cup but nothing happend and brazil crashed out. Do you think he will play this year in the first team. Drenthe anyway will not be playing for chelsea even if he is signed because he is going to on loan for a year…
One thing worries me about this more packed squad this season, and that is the sheer amount of pressure on each place.
GK – Cech, Cudicini, Hilario (Cech obvious first choice.)
RB – Ferreira, Johnson, Diarra, Alex, Ben Haim, Boulahrouz
CB – JT, Riccy, Ben Haim, Alex, Boulahrouz
LB – Bridge, Cole, Ferreira?
Winging positions – Robben, Cole, Malouda, SWP, Kalou, Sinclair?
Central midfield – Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Sidwell, Mikel, Makelele, Diarra (you could even include SWP after his performances there last season)
Strikers – Drogba, Shevchenko, Pizarro, Kalou, Sahar?
Excluding the two youngsters, we have 25 players for 10 places. Bust ups are imminent.
I think Boulahrouz, Diarra and Makelele are the obvious departures. Makelele, due to his age, could be kept predominantly as a sub in order to help keep our strangehold on games after gaining the lead. Kalou, Sinclair and Sahar should all go on loan somewhere (isn’t Sahar already secured with Charlton for the first half of the season?)

Anyways u can find the CFC matches time and dates at this blog , BC has posted them up inthe link for fixtures , or u can go to the official website of EPL , to get these dates!!!! Its really interesting to see a Sevilla supporter interested in CFC!!!! But enjoy urself in London!!!!!
well i think the site is really cool like our new training complex at surrey.on the team,it is now very clear what jose wants to do next season,he is going back to the formation that won jhim back 2 back premiership titles.and thank god we have competiton for places again,
Great Improvements BC very gd m8!
Notice that very few ppl are remembering Stevie Sidwell in Midfield, dont think Lamps & Essien will be worried bout Sidwell but think Ballack should be, we need an improvement from him and a bit more effort,
Noticed someone saying that there cud be bust ups due to squad size, but we have to remenber that we played over 60 games last season and players like Geremi & Boulahrouz played 20+ games so hjopefully there will be no problems there, good competition!
About time we quit the 4-4-2! It got us nowhere, and we will no longer struggle to score more than twice. Seriously, how often did we score more than two or three goals last season?? I can’t remember too many! Could someone maybe find that statistic??

i love the new design of the website – it’s fantastic in safari (unlike the last one)
malouda for 13 mil seems a great deal for a player of the year in ligue 1!
i hear rumours that arjen might leave as a result but fingers crossed he won’t. we really need him as he is a truly creative difference. (as noted several times in key moments last season)
any more word on arjen?
Arjen Robben said tt he will be happy to stay in chelsea should he nt be going to RM….hopefully he stays…he can be part of chelsea’s success…maybe the players tt will be leaving or has left are geremi, bohlahrouz,SWP
I don’t think Malouda effects chelsea tremendously. I have seen some clips of him and it seems to be a stricker rather than a wing.
I think he is not able to destroy opponents deffensive line likes Robben and Joe Cole.
Malouda will be helpful , if Robben injures which is so common.
By the way, we will have problem with Right back for sure, if we don’t sign one.
I watched Alex games with Brazil international team in Copa America. He is not good enough , he is just tall.
God damn !!!! we wasted money on Malouda.
we could buy other players far better than him .
take a look at this link,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_WZd-4QThI
Fran Ribery is better than him .
Disagree with Maysam comments on Malouda, I think he’s a gr8 addition to the club, Defo dont think he looks like a striker, 317 career apperances (Inc France) 48 goals, good goal return for a midfielder but not a striker!
I do agree with you on Alex tho,not sure about him yet, watched him against Chile, had a quiet game but for the chile goal he was beaten for pace with Ease. But I can’t judge him on 1 apperance and he did put Arsenal out of Europe last year!!
Guys, it seems that Robben is staying back at Chelsea….
now what would be composition to accommodate all three…Cole,Robben and Malouda…and is Malouda really that good…if not then I guess we haven’t reinforced much this season compared to rival clubs…RB issue is still there….
Florent malouda is a top class winger we need one now that man u have signed NANI & ANDERSON so with class on the wing with Joe Cole and Florent Malouda we will definatly scare defences !!
Malouda is a very good winger he will help with deleviarys from the wings witch will total more goals and if he is as good as he was at lyon chelsea have a good deal !!
I hope so , and I did not say he is not good , We could buy players better than him .
lyon have done us well so far i mean look at our last business transaction…think his name was Essien….do tell me if i got that wrong haha!
i think Malouda will do the same as essien, go on to become a chelsea legend!!!
