Chelsea Transfer News Roundup & Other News
We are just entering the last lap of the transfer race, as we would like to have most of them fixed before we set off for US in about 10 days. Alex would join us for the tour, subject to the completion of paper work, which is great news. We’d never get short on defence this season, it seems – Terry, Ricardo, Paulo, Cole, Alex, Haim, Bridge and probably Drenthe, with Essien and Diarra as remote back ups, that is if all the defenders are stretchered off on the same day, which I can’t rule out.
Telegraph sees us as the front runners to get Pato’s signature. With his two goals against South Korea this week in the U20 world cup, he is only increasing the anxiety and restlessness in me. Having come so close, I don’t want this deal to slip off. I don’t care who he plays for in his playstation as long as he plays for us on the pitch.
That said, I’m concerned how this would impact the development of Sinclair and Sahar. May be when Drogba and Sheva leave, will we have Kalou, Sahar, Sinclair & Pato?! They are exciting prospects and I want to see more of Sinclair and Sahar in the domestic cup matches this season. I’m sure that would be the plan too as we will concentrate more on league and champions league this time.
The latest on Malouda is that we are still trying to land him while he has returned to training with Lyon. There could be a meeting between Chelsea and Lyon officials this week and Kenyon is keen to have Malouda in the team for our US tour. He also said that there are no offers for any of the Chelsea players, which is a pleasant surprise. What about those things Roman Calderon has been talking? Well, the Real Madrid officials run a rumor mill of their own and are an absolute delight for Spanish Press. I just hope that their talk on Robben is also one of “we tried our best to land XYZ” to be used for their elections.
Chelsea have insisted that any offers for Lampard or Terry would be rejected. And as of now we are hopeful of getting their signatures before the start of the new season. All said and done, both of them have another couple of years in their contract; there is no hurry to have the contract signed in the next few days and they can sign later on too.
Tevez’s transfer continues to be a superb case study in football transfers and it’s sure to keep the attorneys busy for some more months. Now, the rumoured move of Tevez to Man Utd seems to be at risk, with FA more getting ready to complicate the issue even further. To me, Tevez to Man Utd sounds more like Henry to Barca, considering how and where he would fit in (considering that Saha would be able to walk on his own).
After roping in about a dozen of promising youngsters, Chelsea inaugurated a new 20m pound training facility yesterday. This impressive modern training facility in Cobham is built on 140 acres and has 30 football pitches of which 6 pitches to highest Premiership standard replicating Stamford Bridge. This is just another indication of Roman’s long term vision with Chelsea. We needed to spend money in the market to launch ourselves in the European stage but now the club concentrates on the future by investing in youth and academy.
Hopefully, there’ll be some concrete news in a few days. Catch you later with more stuff later on.

An amazing blog man!
Love it keep going on with it!
This is what I took from the Chelsea official website: Kenyon speaks
‘There is money and we are going to spend money on Malouda and if there were other players we felt were the right players, there is money to spend on those.
‘This is very much José’s wish in terms of what he wanted and which positions he was looking for and there were other players on the list if we didn’t get the ones we have. José is very happy with the squad he will have at the start of pre-season.’
However that won’t stop Chelsea this summer from being linked with a whole range of players – Spurs’ Pascal Chimbonda, Sevilla’s Daniel Alves and Brazilian youngster Alexandre Pato three of the most recent.
Denying any such interest, Kenyon explained: ‘The reason for that is to make a market – and we are good for making a market.
‘We believe the squad we have, we are capable at the start of the season of competing in all four competitions,’ he continued.
Isn’t that crap now? Aren’t they going for any left-back????

That was right-back, not left.
My mistake. :)
it ‘ll be a great deal to seal malouder, pato drenthe and proberbly chibonder, as well. at least we will not suffer the same like nast season, again it will be my pleasure to add porto ricaldo quarisma.my regard to all chelsea board. thanks
It seems we r back to that stupid policy of using makeshift people , imagine its been 3 seasons and now JM is starting his 4th at CFC , and still he has not found any alternatives for that RB problem , either he is too arrogant or stupid , if u ask me , he is both!!!!
Joeblue, Sevilla want 30 million euros for Alves, according to some sites… Is he worth it? What other RB would solve our problem?? One that we could realistically land, that is…
M_D, be patient… there’s still time.
And BC… I absolutely love this blog, but could you perhaps incorporate some sort of “Delete my comment” option?? Just wondering, if it’s easily done…
BC, lovin the posts mate one of the best sites around, But on sahar i heard he’s off to Charlton till Jan, i was hopin he’d be on the 1st team this comin season,
The idea of Malouda, Robbie, Joe Cole,SWP, Scott Sinclar and Kalou(who lets be honest is a great winger and not a real CF powerhouse) being able to bomb our wing,
Ballack, lamps, mikel, sidwell, Maka and essien behind them, because lets face it with the midfield packed and wingers there, its a case of Build it and the goals will come, get the ball to sheva and hes a target man, Pizzaro is a peruvian drogba type, powerfull, good first touch and can finish and well Drogba is Drogba and once he quits all this i might move on shit il love him,

Really Adonis , and all the other RB’s r either dead or taken????
What abt Miguel???? Valencia r asking for 9 mn pounds for him , with Boulahrouz , is that too much???? i really dont think so , and even if Alves is for 30 mn Euros , wat do u think we can go another season without a classy RB??? With people like Ronnie , Messi , Robinho , Kaka , set to meet us in the CL and wingers like Kewell , Ronaldo , Giggs etc in the EPL , do u think we shld still wait in hope that Ferreira lands another lucky day on the big matches???
Its foolishness on every persons part to think this way , no team can win the ultimate prizes without classy players , atleast in defence , every team can see that CFC hav their weak position at right , so shld we give them the opportunity to exploit it??? look at Manu having Heinze and Evra at left and Brown , O’Shea and Neveille at RB , even the scousers hav Finnan , and Risse as their fullbacks and they r both awesome , or we can hav a look at the Arsey’s with Eboue and Clichy!!!!!
Either we find able replacements or suffer the consequences of JM’S arrogance for another season!!!!!

Guys! I see that 30 of us have started the survey but have not finished it. I dont get the details for the incomplete survey. I request you to please finish the survey and submit. Only then I’d be able to see the collective views and take actions accordingly. Thanks again.
Joeblue, I realize that we need a RB and have needed one for a while. But how about Diarra? He played a couple of terrific matches at RB last year. I’m not saying he’s the cure… he isn’t, but he’s still growing. I mean, I personally want Miguel but I don’t think Valencia would sell him. This 9m pound figure… are you sure? If that’s the case, we should certainly get him. I don’t think Alves would be as good in Chelsea as he is with Sevilla because there he really doesn’t have a strict position, he just goes wherever. But at Chelsea, JM wouldn’t allow him to do that. I don’t know. Whether we get Miguel or Alves or anyone, we need a RB.
Alves wud be a great signing and y not spend £20mil, but wat about Micah Richards, great potential wud love to see him at the Bridge!!!
I just did the poll’s and noticed 8 ppl want to keep Boulahrouz,, lets be serious he’s Mourinho’s worst buy, I think he’d struggle to get on for Leeds!! lol
all u chelski fans suck……… its the worst team i have seen i feel sorry that i was a chelski fan not anymore u idiots……….. go down chelski
this guy is really jealous of me!!!!!!
Ban his ID from the blog BC , we dont need good-for-nothing scousers here!!
Adonis ,i really dont think Diarra is a fullback , why r people still suggesting stop-gap arrangements??? Havent we seen how difficult it is agnst opposition who know how to exploit weaknesses , some reasons why not Diarra:
1.He likes to get forward far too often
2.He does not know how to cover the wings
3.He is young and immature , infact he has been booked once in almost every match he has played , so JM has two options , either to waste a sub or hav him sent-off
4.He is neither a good crosser , nor has a defenders smarts
5.Its not his specalized position , he is actually a defensive midfielder
6.He will be ripped apart by wingers like Ronie , Messi etc as he does not have the experience at the top most level
I think if even after all these problems somebody wants him as a full-back is rather ill-informed and lacks footie knowledge!!!
i think you guys are forgeting that ben-haim can play as a right back
hey guys where exactly is this poll thing??? i wanna voice my opinion but i can seem to locate it!!!!
dan
not to worry i found it now lol.
I think the RB situation is ok and i agree with joe bblue (for once haha!) we need to stop looking for stop gaps (ie “ben-haim can also play RB”)We need an answer to the problem not a stop-gap! we need to address this situation otherwise we will keep conceding! i mean the only weakness we have (when not riddled with injuries) is that RB possition, and diarra (to young and “flimsy”) boula (wel.. a joke) fereria (non consistant) we dont have comfort at all, i Must say tho i would love this season to be the year that Glen Johnson Shows us all he has grown up and he can take over this role, he has the build he has some pace and he has had a consistant season at Portsmouth, i think he could be the english answer to our problems, but as we are chelsea i think he won’t even be given a chance to shine and another “over-sea’s” player will be purchased!
whats your opinions guys???
i though i was giving a compliment !!! ;)
i thought i was giving a compliment !!! ;)
Danski,
I have always been a fan of Glen J, but i still think we need to add 1 more RB to the team, Reasons r;
Diarra is not an RB, he didnt do to bad but his mentallity is play like a defensive midfielder. + he may be on his way out this Summer.
Paoulo F, not only is he not consistent but it seems as tho Jose has lost confidence in him & so have most fans.
Ur right about Ben Haim (Essien) being a stop gap & geremi has gone to Newcastle.
Wat about some1 like Phillip Lahm played LB for Germany last World Cup but is right footed & Ballack cud have an influence on him signing. Wat u think?
we are 2nd in CL and 2nd in premiership too in terms of earnings.
some pointers

http://www.theoffside.com/leagues/england/english-premiership/200607-english-premier-league-money-table.html
thats an awsome suggestion!! he impressed me in world cup, he scored germany’s first goal didnt he??
i think he was on shortlist when we were headhunting Ashley Cole from the Arse-nal, but he is naturally left footed so in a way he would be out of possition and with A.cole and good old W.Bridge he’d be stuck for a place if it didnt work out.
I think he would be a huge influence in ballack i dont recall seeing them play together but i can imagine they play the same “german” style.
I’m a real fan of Glen johnson for 2 reasons:
1) He’s english and we need Gary Neville off RB and retired to the bench the MANURE BECKS LOVING TOSSER!!!….sorry haha
and..
2) he was a promising talent from the time he started, he was tireless and you could watch him rapidly progress the more games he played, i think with the team we have (defensive experience of Terry, Ricardo Essien, Ballack, Lampard) he will learn all the more!!! i think for JM to bring him back off loan he (Johnson) must be ready and that is maybe why he has waited so long to show interest in other RB’s such as Alves, he has clearly brought him back to use, i do recall seeing an interview on Glen Johnson on the BBC website saying that he would be used next season!
U can imagine i was happy to read this lol
What do you think Sheva will contribute next term are you confident he will bounce back?
Dan. english supporter for 18 years!!!! (age of 2 haha!)
Blue champion where is the football news around the world on the left hand column? before it got upgraded it was always there. please anwser back?
Joeblue, I never said Diarra was the end of our problems… I said we needed to sign a right back. All I’m saying is I don’t think he’ll be as weak an RB as everyone’s saying, should he have to play in that position. But none of us (including me) want him to be our RB.
Dan
I think ur right about GJ coming back from loan, perfect example of that would be Bridgey who was with Fulham for 6 months and now he’s every bit as good as Ash Cole, (I think he was as good as b4 going on loan) and Neville is a MANURE BECKS LOVING TOSSER!!! – LOL
I realy hope Sheva will be back to his best this season and dont see y he wont, wud have him over Torres any day!
Do ya think Scotty Sinclair will gt a sniff this season, I see he has went to the States for Pre season, mut be over the injury, gd luck to him, class prospect for us.
Cant wait til Sat nite 1st game of the tour, get the Beers in!!
Anto, N.Irish Fan for 22 years, same as u age of 2 lol
Please chelsea sign alves, pato, drentre plus alex and also keep Robben because that man is just a wing wizzard man u suck and liverpool are just spending anything to keep up Rafa is frat Potato who should rot in hell also I think Chelsea should sell ballack and bring in someone like a Kaka because Ballack is so slow and i think Lampard dosent like him. Roman Arbramovich is God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
plx peter keyon shouldn’t let ruben leave, he is a great player to us, the only skifull player we had at the moment, i love the blues more than my girl friend.
i think now malouda has arrived Robben will be over shadowed but is still one of the best left winger’s in the world if he leaves it will be a sad day for the true blue army !!!
Raging Bull i think sinclair deserves a shot but when you think on the grander scale i think the season ahead will be the making or breaking of mourinho’s Chelsea. i Mean he must deliever the Champs League to kep his job (i think thats a plot Kenyon and Abramovic have despite the fans oppinion and what else is delivered) so sinclair would be out there but also with JM batteling AF over who has spent the most, JM wont be taking chances if other players are on form…. we will see him tho i hope! great young talent! be nice to see him become great b4 he’s thrown to the israilli army!!!!!
Plzz get Alves for the RB position. We dont want Paolo Ferrera letting the team down again..:(
I have been stating this all last season I think Bridge is a much better player and has more ability with the ball than the Ashley Cole, I think Bridge has more heart playing in the chelsea team then Cole and we seemed to be playing alot better whenever JM put him on that wing. I think Bridge first then Cole…. What do U think??
hey the guy has been a rock for us and u cant say he’s let us down! the FA cup only came to blue last year due to his immense performance of keep Cristiano Ronaldo on his feet!
credit where its due….but long term i must say he could have been a little more consistant!
gotta agree LDN bridge is in it for the football, i think cole has the abbility but lacks the apssion…his heads up his mrs arse along with his visa card haha!
I believe in attack Bridge is far better a player than Ashley, especially on the delivery of his crosses. So many goals / chances came from Bridge being involved in lead-up play through crosses or inside passes. However, Ashley has a slight advantage over Bridge, I believe, in defensive terms. Bridge still is a very competent defender, yet I think if this position was picked on the players defensive ability it would go to Ashley.
However, on the whole, Bridge showed what a quality left back he is and I believe that he had a better season last year. Lets hope he gets a few more games under his belt this term, eh?
