Truly it was a defining day! While it was such a bad day today, the only good thing that happened was that I did not get to see the match today. If I had watched the match for all 90 minutes to see that our situation go from bad to worse, I’m sure I must have been much more gutted. Great performance by Man Utd. They fully deserve their current position.

I might sound like an idiot if I say that we still have a chance. Anything’s possible, so may be we have an outside chance. After all, they need to lose to Chelsea and lose to either to Man City or West Ham. If two stoppage time goals could have given Man Utd the champions league title and treble, then anything is possible.

May be I sound strange if I say that I still have hopes. May be it’s got something to do with my personality. I simply don’t give up – at home or at workplace or in whatever, wherever. Sometimes, I wonder how people can lose hopes! I cannot simply apprehend this. Especially as a fan, I dont understand how hopes can be lost. May be I’ll never understand this!

Jose was very clever in his post-match interview. He did not appear to have lost hopes, also did not want to sound too optimistic:

It is not over because mathematically there is a chance. When the chance is there, we have to believe. But it is almost lost, almost. They have to lose two games and we have to win all three. They are very close.

There was maybe a bit too much emotion on our part, but there was a lot of heart. We put them under pressure and we were close to getting a third goal. I feel sad but I have a big game on Tuesday night and that’s a good thing in this situation. We have no time to be sad.

May be this what even I want to say. Mathematically possibility of league title being one side, we have an important champions league semi final on Tuesday that could put through to the final. If the Chelsea players are as sad as Jose and if they want to show a reaction, all they have to do is to get a draw and a win – draw against Liverpool and win in the final.

Like you all, I’m with Chelsea and Jose Mourinho in their pursuit for glory. Efforts are what we can put in. Results have multiple dependancies and factors. I’m proud of the efforts of our players and coach. Our reader Abdullah put it so perfectly that I have to borrow his line – “It’s a disappointment but not a failure”.
