West Ham vs Chelsea: 18-April-07 @ 20:00 UK
Jose Mourinho must be a relieved man, thanks to a lot of positives last week. Roman hugged Jose and had a few words with him after the FA cup semi final. Joe Cole played for more than 90 minutes and still looked fit and fine. SWP made a good impact when he came on as a sub. Essien was sound and strong as ever. Cech showed that he is in great form. Scott Sinclair is back in Chlesea reserves! It’s very heartening to realise that we have not lost too much ground while Jose was a worried man.
It was not a comfortable win as such in the reverse leg at the Bridge. Geremi scored this fantastic free-kick that gave us a first half lead and after that we defended well but we did have some tense final moments. That free-kick by Geremi deserves a video:
Well, I should say, I was drooling over Carlos Tevez. I was just praying for him to join us. I even included him in my Chelsea XI in Winning Eleven (I remember that he scored on his debut). When he was going through a rough patch as a hammer, I truly felt for him. He is a very highly talented guy. Not many Premiership players have the kind of ball skills that he possesses. While so many champions league playing clubs were chasing him for his signature, he signed for West Ham in ‘complicated’ contract. While there were problems with their deteriorating results and Alan Pardew and Mascherano were leaving, I was still hoping that he could make it to the Bridge. But he seems to be settling down there and also started scoring goals. Bad luck for us. Anyway, he’ll be here tomorrow night as the player Chelsea need to watch out for.
Lampard says this will be a very difficult match:
Both teams are in the same situation for different reasons. We both have to win the game. It will be a hot atmosphere and ourselves, we cannot afford to lose points in the title race. Both teams are desperate to win and I think it is going to be a bit of a war to be honest. It is important after all the hard work we have done that we don’t let it go in one game. West Ham is a very hard game, make no mistake.
West Ham are now 19th in the table and I have a feeling that they’d drop out. This is one reason why we can expect a very tough match tomorrow. Their players would be giving their everything to get something out of this home match. They also played a weekend match which they lost 3-0 to Sheff United. Lampard and Joe Cole would be returning to Upton Park and would be interesting they both are the goal scorers. But I’m still in favour of resting Lampard and Drogba. With Essien not playing the first leg against Liverpool, we certainly need Lampard in good health. Drogba looks tired too. With a possibility of three matches against Man Utd next month, he should be properly rested.
Mikel and Diarra should definitely be playing allowing Essien to play in right midfield. I’m sure Jose must have given Kalou a kick in the back side after his poor showing against Spurs. He should be given a fair chance to make amends. SWP can come in for Diarra, in case there is a need.
Once again, Man Utd played ahead of Chelsea and have increased the gap to 6 points after they beat a very spirited Sheff United. We have always proved that Man Utd’s results do not put the pressure on us at all. Jose knows that we just need to continue from where we left in the Premiership. Any win for Chelsea would do. I dont mind a grinding 1-0 win but all I can wish for is that we score before the 94th minute.

Roman’s love is in the air, that would give our lads more positive backing for our final assaults on three fronts!

Guys how come Chelsea always get to play after ManU…two times they had to play after us and both times they lost(West Ham,Portsmouth)….do u see any favouritism in match scheduling….

Today’s match, I have a feeling will not be too taxing . Chelsea have a lot of players who need match- practce like Wayne Bridge ,Geremi,Ferreira and SWP and Mikel. And even Joe Cole needs some more I think .
So I see JM letting them have a rip at WH first and then sending in the big guns only if needed. U know, WH needs to win , not draw and a patient build-up would suit us better than a no-holds barred attack.
I don’t care if we win in the last seconds or before that (I’m used to that stuff). We just gotta win by 1 goal and avoid injuries.
A steely look in the face by Lamps at an already demoralized WH and a lash at goal by just about anyone will seal it.
I am not being overly optomistic , it’s just that I feel we need to win a game or two comfortably sometime too . And I think tonight’s the night.( And I’m feeling all right )
0-3 and bring on Newcastle as quicly as possible so we can whack them too. Cos we gotta a date with Liverpuddle next week . I can hardly wait.

Guys rumours are that Chelsea is trying to woo Klinsmann to Stamford….how true is this…

Rumours like that are as numerous as the number of hairs on my ……………
Klinnsman ? Never !
German beer ? Always !
Let’s talk about other things instead.
If we could get what’s his name the Bayern winger Bastien Swarzstienger I think it would be great. U know, the young blond guy probably not the best but looks like he’s got lots of character. When he wasn’t around B Munich went down whimnpering last week .
Sheva’s out for tonite too.So I guess Kalou and J Cole.
And cheer up , Robben back in about ten days I read somewhere.
And half the Manure backline is wobbly, with Evra injured again.
I tell u Manure’s greed in going for everything is going to cost them some . I’m looking forward for them to lose points at either ManC or Everton.
And who cares I they’re scoring a lot in games . We score goals in the games
it counts and we have done it.
With both Robben and JCole terrorizing the flanks , JM making tactical switches
and this great self belief we got -to- the -last- moment- we- push- forward- and- score mentality we will go far.
I’m in a good mood today, and when I feel good for nothing it usually means CFC wins . Not logical , just coincedental this feeling.
Keep the Faith

Not to burst your bubble, but ManU has enough tallent to beat City or Everton without a goalkeeper… Highly doubtly they’re dropping points to them. But other than that, we’re looking good. The german’s called Bastian Schweinsteiger, and I like him too. He would be good for Chelsea. He’s the one who scored the three goals in the bronze medal game at the WC… (well, the third was basically his…)
