News Round-up
Some essential news today. I hope you know that there is a break in Premiership football due to the Euro qualifiers and the next Chelsea match is only on the 31st of March. So, that leaves us some time for other football news.
Our much-awaited season-defining match against Man Utd has been postponed from 15-Apr to 9-May, as both Chelsea and Man Utd have their FA Cup semifinals in the second week of April. Ironically, Jose wants this match to be held as soon as possible. He knows that if we play them tomorrow and beat them too, the gap would be reduced to just three points. Man Utd will have weeks of hectic of football knowing that they lead by just 3 points, which adds more pressure. In the last 15 days of the Premiership this season, we would be playing Bolton, Arsenal, Man Utd and Everton - certainly not a favour from FA.
England takes on Israel on 24-Mar and Andorra on 28-Mar in the Euro 2008 qualifiers. Steve McClaren sounds all too positive for what England has done under him. Currently at No.3 in the standings and 6 more matches to go after these two, England’s fortune is hanging in the balance. If they dont get 6 points out of these two matches this month, it can get really nervous towards the end, as only the top two in each of the 7 groups will qualify. It’ll be a shame if England does not qualify for the Euro 2008. I have a strong feeling that they would. For Israel, our own Ben Sahar would be playing against his own Chelsea team mates in England team. If he manages to find his way around Terry for a goal, that could be one step closer for him to the Chelsea first team. I hope all Chelsea players return uninjured from these internationals.
FA has banned that thug who ran into the pitch and tried to hit Lampard, has been banned for life by Tottenham. Some of the Spurs fans consider that the celebrations by Chelsea players went a little overboard. From being 1-3 down at home, if you draw and earn a replay and beat the home team against the odds, you tend to celebrate like that. Moreover, Lampard has made it very clear that they would celebrate in front of the travelling fans, as he considers it very important. If you look over the Arsenal blogs, you can see how annoyed they are that their players dont even bother to wave hands at them. So, now I have one more reason to like Frankie Lampard. By the way, celebrations are no reasons to punch players, otherwise, I’d punch Henry and Adebawhore everytime they do that stupid ugly dance of theirs.
Talking about Lampard leads us to the various rumours linking him to Juve. Lamps has made it as clear as Jose that his future lies in Chelsea. Even the Juve sporting director has denied these rumours. Until he puts pen on paper with Chelsea for his extension, the media will do their job. Ignore them.

why are we jumping on the gun so soon. we still have 8 out of 12 matches to play. to talk about possibilities of qualification, it is way too early.
