Do we have enough space in our cabinet?

All four? . . . mmhmm . . . let’s see!
We’re back to the Cups - three of them. We should skin Norwich or Blackpool at home on 17th Feb in FA Cup, we should win away at Porto on 21st Feb and we should thump Arsenil on 25th Feb in the Carling Cup final.
Well, I’ve already made it clear what results do I expect in those matches. I dont think it is a tough task now. If the above happens, I dont think anyone would be surprised because even the non-Chelsea fans ‘expect’ (not ‘want’) us to win. There’s a very topical opinion poll on the sidebar now to see what you feel about our silverware chances this season.
To compare where our rivals stand in all the competitions, Man Utd are well placed in all competitions except Carling Cup where Southend stunned a Man Utd first team that all their magicians. Arsenil can hope for the fourth place in the league and if they falter Bolton and Reading are in arm’s length. They could be ousted by Bolton at the Reebok, which is their jinxed stadium. They do have a tricky fixture in the Champions League and I hope the Dutch champions move ahead.
Liverpool is playing for the third place in the league. They wasted their home draws and were knocked out of the domestic cups. The Champions League draw did not make Rafa jump for joy. While upsets are possible in football, while Southend can beat Man Utd, I’m still not able to see Liverpool getting past Barca. Well, that way, I did not expect them to beat Milan in the final in 2004-05, and nobody expected, when they had a mountain to climb with half hour to go.
It is a funny situation to be in, for the fans now. While I want the other top 4 clubs to be eliminated in the cups, I also remember that it will help them in their pursuit of the league title. Talking about league title, I refer only to Man Utd. Therefore, I’d be fine if Man Utd keep themselves alive in FA Cup and Champions League as this will make their title bid, little more difficult. Meanwhile, I would say that I’m indifferent to the results of the matches involving Liverpool or Arsenil unless it is an opportunity for us to shred them.
For a man of Jose’s hunger for success, if we are to win all four, he would have very little to prove in the next season. Only for this reason, I wouldnt mind if we win only two or three of the silverware this season. I dont know. If we win all four, Jose might even set a new standard for Chelsea by aiming for a back-to-back all four!

i’d say two at the max - carlig cup and fa cup. winning premiership this season is more difficult than winning champions league. currently we dont play that commanding style of football to say that we’ll win the champs league.

champs league is very tough as the above poster said. but tougher than the premiership i’d say. It takes a lot to win the cup ahead of Barca, Inter, Lyon etc. we cannot win the champions league with essien in central defence and diarra as right back.
4. Jeez
hold on. essien will be centre back anymore. terry ad ricardo are back. diarra as right back is better than geremi/paulo. i dont kow on what basis you say with this team we cannot win the champs league? you’ll see ballack and shev blossoming in the champs league. drogba would like to finish the season with more than 35 goals. champs league teams respect shev more than the english teams do. he can play his kind of game there. cech has started counting his clean sheets and he would like to maintain this streak. i dont see anyone beating us that easily. of course, barca was the team to beat and we have beaten them - win at the bridge and draw at camp nou. what more do you expect?

that’s all fine jeez but the other champs league contenders are very stabilised and well placed in their league also so they have all the confidence they would need. Barca, Inter and Lyon are all on top of their leagues and that helps them in their team selection etc.

to be realistic i would also say carling cup and fa cup. with loads of luck, champs league too. prem is a goner.

4 trophies 4 chelsea.. I bet $500 for that!! LOL..

we must claw the gap back to three points with man utd.
so basically we must keep winning and winning and winning.
so that when they come to the bridge we beat them and go from there.
the problem is they look so consistent!
it’s really only the half way mark of the season and if we iron out a few problems (not killing off opponents, soft goals, players off form and out of position) then we have the belief, the talent and the tactical ability to win the big games.
after all we have big experience at the top level under pressure situations and after a while, especially in europe, our turn will come.

yes the best coach

Yup all the other big teams might be at the top of their leagues but if Manure keeps up their consistancy, Chelsea JM Drogs, Lamps Terry and all will be very very hungry for the Carling FA and fighting spirit will be great so I think that hunger and spirit will net us the Champs league whatever the other big teams positions are .

Expecting four is a bit too much now. Three is optimistic and two is realistic.

Elections Now!
It is time for Abramovich to Leave Chelsea! We will keep our manager JM who has been League Champion in the past four years - the early two times in FC Porto, with a budget some 60 times smaller!
Are we Chelsea supporters to accept a “president” to break the back of the team by denying the supporters two centre backs and in so doing to cause the season to be ruined?

All four? That would be something special in any sport. I prefer to think one game at a time and one competition at a time. May the Blues feast on roasted canaries Saturday!

Yes That Abramovich fellow gotta get a handle on his football affairs,
With the Gillette taking over at Liverpool and and Manure making a comeback and also Arsey’s young crop of gooners maturing, it’s not a time to be complacent.Or foolish. Or childish.
I believe that Jose with even half the resources has today could go far. But if This Abramovic guy starts to feel bored with Chelsea he should sell the team . We don’t care who the owner is anyway or how much it’s sold for . We care about the team the manager, and sporting affairs.
And if the guy doesn’t have the same passion . Well he can go back to Siberia and watch Serie A on Calcio Hightlights of the week.on DVD.
We fans deserve more than that. I bought Chelsea Jersey’s for all the family ,kids and all and that cost twice the national average famil;y annual income where I live. So the feelings of fans need to be taken into account when decisions concerning CFC are made . Not just because of the money they spend supporting the team but because of the passion with which they follow the team’s ups and downs .
The team might be a toy or status symbol for some . BUT for me it’s a passion and part of my life.
I don’t even like it when my wife talks about Manure or Becks.
surely all four. thats what i’ve been saying even when we were not in form. now that our big guns are back, we’ll nuke them all. especially, if we beat arse in the league cup final, then the others would follow suit. we need to win this trophy bring back that confidence and form that would make us feel lonely at the top.
