Get among goals (I mean, ours!) guys
The surprise re-match with Wycombe Wanderers is at the Stamford Bridge tonight. Team news is that Cech is well and truly back for his 100th Chelsea appearance. Maka is back from suspension too. Terry is likely to back only in February, so we dont have to keep speculating on that anymore. Bridge was injured last week and he would be out for about two weeks.
Enough of injury updates. Is there any good news? Yes, the opposition that we play a home. Wycombe surprised many by deservedly earning a draw against us in the last leg. Kalou deserves to be dropped and John Mikel (as he calls himself) should start in this match and many more matches. He seems to be settling down and if he gets better, we will have a very effective option in a 4-3-3 midfield, if Essien has to move back.
With both Robben and Joe Cole injured and SWP and Kalou playing poorly, we have to get back to our reasonably successful 4-4-2 diamond. Maka’s return and Sheva’s availability point to this formation.
Mikel talks about the team morale and also says he is ready to play anywhere!
As everyone knows, we have been having defensive problems. It is one of those things where we try to make corrections and we try see if we can adjust and make sure everything starts going well.
I have played in defensive midfield before and if the manager wants me to play there, that is why I am here. I love to be in the team and anywhere he wants me to play, I can go and give my best and try to make sure everything goes well. Anywhere in the midfield is okay for me.
There are talks about the possibility of an upset tonight because if Chelsea has to suffer an upset, I dont think it can happen any other time. I dont suggest that this match can go either way. Playing at home, with Cech, Ricardo and Maka back, also Drogba, Lampard and Essien in the team, how can I say there could be an upset?
We should go for a big win. If we want to show that the draw against Wycombe was an aberration, we certainly need to win this by some margin.
4-0 please.

The team playing tonight as BC said is DIFFERENT than the one at Anfield the other day.
Happy that Wycombe gets the extra income but a good win with Maka, and Ricardo back will give us a lot of confidence back. The same probably goes for the match against N ‘forrest on Sat.
Bad luck and squabbles can’t be with us all the time . Maybe our fortunes started to get better with Arsey’s two goals? You never know.
it could be better than 4-0 i feel. after the loss against liverpool, the players must be waiting for a chance to demolish some team and here comes wycombe.
cmon blues! just do it!
Romanholiday!
I just realised something looking at your comment.
Why cant we play Maka in the central midfield instead of Paulo. And Diarra can take up the defensive midfield role. Or Obi can be the defensive midfielder (not-so-convincing) and Jose might choose Ballack again in the midfield.
Bottomline: Maka for Central Defence!
Any news of reinforcements ?
what abt robben
i am looking for info abt the starting 11… someone knows something? thx
2-0 for us. 2 goals of SHEVA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carling finals…Here we come!
well done. i thought sheva was quite sharp tonight and he definitely worked his butt off chasing everything even though he was playing against a lesser opponent. come on chelsea!
BC as your wish our players finished it for 4-0/.
