Why doesn’t it go beyond 6 points?

Once again the crucial weekend has been kind to us. Our loss on Saturday does not hurt us now that badly. Despite all the great football that Man Utd has been playing and all the injuries and other frontpage issues in Chelsea, we are still just 6 points from Man Utd.

I’m sure this loss would have done a lot of damage to Man Utd’s confidence and they must be awfully disappointed. For more than 24 hours, they knew that a win on Sunday would put them 9 points ahead. The fact that they lead for 80 minutes and still lost the game must have added salt to the wound.

In December, Jose had said that Man Utd have not taken advantage of Chelsea’s out-of-form displays. It was then seen as a part of psychological warfare. Now, it’s very clear that he was right and there cannot be a better instance than this weekend matches to substantiate his claim.

Jose thanks Fergie for the Sunday result but says I wont return the favour!

Remember, Man Utd’s next few fixtures are very risky away games which can go either way. They have put pressure on themselves by this result. If my wishful thinking comes good, we should be on par with them by end of February.

I’m watching this match between Barca and Gimnastic, which Barca is winning 3-0 despite some mediocre football. The defensive line-up is this: Marquez, Puyol, Thuram, Oleguer, Zambrotta and Belletti – all available for this match. I can’t help but envy their availability than anything. We have three central defenders – Terry, Carvalho and Khalid – none available!

Peter Kenyon has confirmed that we would buy a central defender before the transfer window closes. I hope we get two specialist centre defenders, even if they are not of the top quality.

This weekend should be considered as a major let-off for Chelsea and we should pull up our socks and do the Chelsea stuff.

Unbeaten runs are not good enough, it’s time for a winning streak!
