The ‘resolute’ Villa defence was just shred to pieces. If I say we outplayed them, it is a gross under-statement. With Martin O’Neill a little quicker on the gun in the press about Jose, it was brilliant to see that we just ripped them apart.
Again, who said Lampard and Ballack cannot play together? And Sheva is back, get ready for the Sheva show, guys. Essien’s second goal of the season and Drogba! It’s only November and 11 goals!!
That Sheva goal was a typical poaching header that we’ve seen many times when he played for Milan. That Geremi-Essien goal was top class, both of them playing so confidently and perfectly. Is Essien working on his finish lately? Geremi was played very well apart from his role in the goal. This is where SWP needs to learn. Geremi does not get too many chances to play. But when he plays, he does impress and makes Jose’s job difficult.
Martin O’Neill said this when he happened to hit planet earth:

In the second half I thought Chelsea were really excellent and we were unable to cope with them. The team they put out was not a surprise to me. We did not do enough throughout the evening and we deserved to get beaten.
Chelsea are the strongest team in European football and they have also got a lot of class players. Essien is very strong and very good. Italy won the World Cup in 1982 but Brazil were by miles the best side in the world at the time. The Brazilian players were so, so good, but they were strong too. There’s nothing wrong with it. These Chelsea players are very strong and they’re very good.

Well there’s some measure of revenge for the tie at the Bridge a few weeks ago — damn well played game and I think that little graphic above shows why Martin O’Neill was in what has to have been awe of the attacking power and defensive capabilities of the Blues…
Harsh for Villa to lose two of their best players during the game (Barry and Laursen), but they wouldn’t have made a difference, I don’t think. And that John Terry was out and they still blanked Villa proves they’re a deep squad. Pourous defense, just plain terrible attacking: Villa were never going to beat Chelsea (tie, perhaps), but I didn’t expect 4-0.
Let’s talk about what’s gonna happen when we meet Bremen soon . Either thay take us or Barca out in one of their upcoming games or they don’t proceed to the knock out stage And we meet them first . Opinions guys

to Roman – The Barcelona results were better than I expected. I would have been happy with 2 points, instead we got four. A defeat against Bremen will not be the end of the world, cos we WILL beat Levski at the Bridge and still win the group.
Shevaa – Some of the videos in youtube seem to be copyright protected by FA, so this might happen. Let me find another one.

I went to Stamford Bridge to watch this game and was luck enough to be seated at the Mathew Harding end to see our Blues pump in three goals in the second half….up close and personal.
It was an amazing atmosphere as this was my first Chelsea game I was physically present at and with all the stars playing in the 4th round of the Craling Cup was great.
Shevchenko’s goal was good and Essien’s goal was even better (kudos to Geremi)…Drogba’s goal was pure poaching after some great link up play.
Martin O Neil knows what he’s talking about when he says Chelsea are the best team in Europe!
The Tottenham loss was just a bad day for us and I hope that we draw Tottenham in the QF…the draw to take place Saturday afternoon around 12 BST.
Watford should be an easy game and I do hope we see some more beautiful goals. Last season too Chelsea started slowly and then hd a string of four goal games….Nov 26th at Trafoord is one game we can pump in the goals and be sure of Poll not being the referee.
