More goals please!

I’m sick of seeing Chelsea in No.2 to Man Utd only because of the goal difference. Matches like this with the relegation battlers, we should make good use of and improve our goal difference. I’m not trying to be arrogant here. All other things being equal, we expect a goal fest, don’t we? We are progressing towards our top form and players are coming good getting on the scoresheet.

And believe me, we had 15 shots on target against Portsmouth, which was the highest for Chelsea under Jose. Now put this into perspective – Sheffield have conceded 12 goals and scored only 4, while we have scored 15 and conceded 5. Ok, now you see that all statistics are pointing towards one direction.

We have the Barca game coming up on Wednesday, so I would expect some players to be rested. Essien has been running every minute of the premiership action so far. Jose should rest him unless Essien is particular about playing the non-stop football. Essien, along with Boulahrouz, would be very crucial in containing the Barca attacks. So, let’s play Paulo in place of Khalid. Hilario should get another chance unless Boss wants to give some football time to Carlo as he has been decalred fit to play. Good news is Petr Cech is well enough to give an interview but it was spine-chilling to read that all he remembered was just running to his goal post after Terry lost the toss.

Boss is not ready to take any opponent likely:

When a team rests 11 players and gives up a competition like the Carling Cup to play against Chelsea, it is because they have a big motivation for this game. But we don’t have less motivation. It is three points we want to get.

Joe Cole and Robben badly need to get some 90-minute football action. I would love to see Joe Cole score in his 100th match in a Chelsea shirt. We can safely rest the top scorer of this Premiership season as Robben is in top form terrorising defences and Joey has scored as well.

0 – 3 (Sheva, Robben, Ballack).

I couldnt get Joey’s Carling cup goal video . . . grrrr . . . let this be a better compromise!
